PARENT MEMO 14: November 23, 2021

Dear St. Patrick Catholic School Families,

ADVENT IS COMING
The Advent Season begins on Sunday November 28th. Saint Patrick Catholic School will be
participating in three prayer services, as well as an outreach project. Please see this link for the
dates you can join the school on TEAMS for our prayer service.

PATROIT’S PEN ESSAYS
We are proud to announce that the top three winners of the Patriot’s Pen Essay contest go to
three St. Patrick Catholic School students. We are not announcing the names just yet, as the
students have not been notified. These three students will be celebrated at a dinner on
December 11th as well as with a visit to our school by one of the VFW Post 10630 members.

UNIFORM POLICY CHANGES
There are some uniform policy changes that will occur over the remainder of the school year.
Sneakers: Students should wear sneakers to school daily, but they do not have to be solid
black. Moving forward sneakers should be “mostly black”. That means the sole may be white
(or a color other than white) and the sides may have an additional color. For example, the
sneaker may have a white Nike Swoosh, New Balance N, Adidas stripes, etc.…on the sides of the
sneaker. Please see this link for examples of acceptable shoes.
Leggings: Girls may wear plain, solid black leggings under their school uniform jumper, skirt, or
skort in place of tights.

PENGUIN PATCH IS COMING
We are excited to bring the Penguin Patch to Saint Patrick Catholic School this year. Students
will be able to purchase small Christmas gifts for their loved ones the week of December 6th to
10th. More information to follow.

COVID VACCINE FOR AGES 5-11
COVID 19 vaccines are now available to children ages 5 to 11. If you are interested in getting your
child vaccinated against COVID 19 use this link below to get up to date information.
Did you know that once your child is fully vaccinated, they will not need to quarantine if
there is an exposure unless they develop symptoms!

ON SITE COVID TESTING
Saint Patrick has partnered with MAKO medical to offer on-site diagnostic COVID testing. Should you
become symptomatic and need to have a COVID test, Micaela Shea, our health coordinator can test
students on the school premises instead of you having to make an appointment elsewhere. Once tested,
MAKO will come to pick up the test sample and have your results back to you in 1-2 days. This service is
OPTIONAL and only performed on those who are symptomatic/have been exposed to COVID AND have
signed up for this service.
If you are interested in enrolling, please use this link to sign up: https://home.color.com/covid/signup/start?partner=tf-stp-1272-staff
