PRINCIPAL’S CORNER:

This marks the one-month anniversary of starting school. We are pleased and grateful with all the cooperation from our families in helping us to keep the children safe even though we know it has often been an inconvenience. So far, so good, and looking toward the future!

In Service,

Ms. Laura

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Forms to register for upcoming parent/teacher conferences will be coming home by today for all classes. Please read the forms, complete and return by deadline listed on form. Also note that parent/teacher conferences are not mandatory for all parents, but any parent can request one if so desired. That will be listed on your form. If you have multiple children, please complete a separate form for each child for our use in scheduling the conferences. Thank you.

NEW OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The school has received information regarding the NC Opportunity Scholarship. Funds are still available, income limits have been raised, and the deadline for application has been extended until December. If you were previously disqualified, that may now have changed. It’s certainly worth investigating at www.ncseaa.edu.

IN NEED OF ….

Since we can’t share earphones this year, the sound from students using computers and tablets is getting a bit distracting during class. We ask every child in grades K-8 to bring in a pair of earbuds or earphones to use with computers. There’s no specific kind, just a regular circular pin earphone jack will do. Please put them in a baggy marked with the child’s name. Only your own child will use their own earbuds for computer class or in the classroom when working on the tablets.

STAFF/FACULTY CHANGES

Please welcome a new face to our office staff. Amanda Gonzalez has joined us to take the place of Pablo DeDios who left to pursue a job more in his job field.

Mrs. Gonzalez is actually the sister of our 4th grade teacher, Alicia Spears and also an alumni of St Patrick School. We are happy to have her here.

ONLINE STUDENTS

Please be reminded that online students are required to participate in ALL classes, not only the academic classes. They receive grades in all classes just as onsite students do. PE classes cannot be livestreamed, but the PE teacher has sent assignments for the online students to accomplish, so make sure that your child is participating in the full range of classes.

SCHOOL PICTURES

School pictures will be scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th. All students must wear their regular school uniforms on this day. PE uniforms cannot be worn on this day. These are the pictures that appear in the yearbook. Please note that arrangements will be made for online students to be pictured in the yearbook as well. Information to come about that. Picture order forms went home earlier this week. You may order pictures by sending completed form into the school, or you may order online via the following link.  Picture Day Preorder
